Local Spotlight #20 - Finsbury Park

Summer is just around the corner, and nothing quite beats a day spent outdoors. From picnics, bbqs and simply laying out in the sun, this month our local spotlight is Finsbury Park.

How Local is it?

Walk from Prime Backpackers and be in the open grass of Finsbury park in just under an hour, or cycle and be there in 15 minutes! If the heat is too much, then just on a train and be there in similarly 15 minutes.

Why Finsbury Park?

Not only is it in our borough of Islington, making it one of our locals, but it’s a pretty impressive park! You may recognise the name as it hosts many of the top summer festivals! Which means our hostel is in the perfect location for a festival weekend too…read more on upcoming Finsbury festivals here…

What activities are there?

This amazing park is idilic for walks with many paths, to gliding on the lake, or if you’re in the mood it, it even has an outdoor gym. But really, once in a park, there are no limits to what you can get up to. Pack a picnic, bring some playing cards, music, and enjoy the weather.

End up visiting? We’d love to see what you get up to, so tag us @primebackpackers and show off your summer set up!
