Local Spotlight #13 - Redemption Roasters

We are currently experiencing the hottest day in history in London. With this hot weather, we thought we’d share one of our favourite hidden gardens, which is the perfect oasis to stay cool and relaxed.

Redemption Roasters is known in London for their delicious espresso based, batch/pour over filter speciality coffee. They also serve fresh cakes, pastries and offer a full brunch menu.

Their site just by Camden Passage is their largest coffee shop, offering plenty of space to meet with friends, or to find a table for some remote working.

What we recommend

You can perch outside the front of the coffee shop, a great spot to bask in the sunshine, and also to watch the business of Angel go by. Or, we recommend their hidden garden….  To find it, go through the coffee shop, down the stairs and out the back. There are plenty of tables, with umbrellas too, so you can have a relaxing time, and a break from the sun if you would like. We recommend ordering one of their ice lattes. Enjoy with a book, whilst remote working, or a perfect place for a catch up with friends.

What we love

Redemption Roasters is much more than a cafe, they are one of the world’s first behind cars coffee company. They are on a mission to reduce re-offending rates through coffee. All of their coffee is roasted inside HMP, The Mount prison, in Hertfordshire. They also run speciality barista training in the justice sector institutions across the country. On release, they also support Redemption Graduates to find jobs, either in their own coffee shops or with their partners. So by supporting Redemption Roasters, you are offering education and employment, and helping prison leavers reintegrate into society. Find more about their mission here
