Local Spotlight #14 - The Narrow Boat

Islington Canal is one of our favourite hidden gems. Turn one corner and you’re in the heart of buzzing London, and turn the other and you’re strolling alongside river boats, under low hanging trees, and peaceful water ways. Whenever we walk along it, in the hum of summer, we’re all seeking the same thing, somewhere we can sit and eat whilst enjoying the canal. For this, we have the perfect local spotlight for you…

The Narrow Boat

Strolling along the canal you can’t miss it. Just like a boat, it sits parallel to the canal, with pocket balconies allowing you to sit above the water in the sunshine. The perfect destination for those seeking a bite, a drink or even a cocktail or two to enjoy in this year’s stonking summer rays.

Menus

Discover local seasonal menus inspired by the canal itself. From fresh fish dishes, to British classics with a twist. Their Head Chef Andy, has created a menu you simply won’t want to miss out on! Fancy a tipple? They offer a wide range of cask ale, craft beers and thirst-quenching wines, which perfectly compliment the menu. It’s all simply a must try!

Location

The Narrow Boats sits quite literally next to Regent's Canal, which stretches across an area just north of central London, at 8.6 miles in length. Starting from Paddington Arm, to the Limehouse Basin and the River Thames in East London. Many riverboats make home along the canal, as well as much wildlife. It really takes you out of London, despite actually being right in the centre. It truly is a hidden oasis and a reason we love Islington as much as we do.
